Studio Maternity Session in Reno

As a wedding photographer, I don’t typically take on a lot of portraits (family) jobs a year, but when I do, I love getting creative with couples. This shoot was years in the making! I had met J at a beach during another shoot; he had observed my photography style and how I worked with my clients and came up to me shortly after. He saved my information and years later was so excited to book a session for his wife. She had a clear vision, and Studio Fourteen was the perfect venue to bring it to reality. We turned on some music, she got glammed up, and we made her vision a reality. Enjoy a tiny peek of their photoshoot!

J&L wanted a maternity session to preserve the beautiful memories of their first baby. As first-time parents, they are most looking forward to showing up for the family and baby. They encourage couples who are planning a maternity session to “go for it”! It’s such a great way to remember this chapter of your life.

Venue: Studio Fourteen in Reno, NV.

Studio Fourteen is an industrial-chic space that welcomes creativity and art. I highly suggest adding this to your shoot to add diversity to your gallery. It’s perfect for couples looking for a modern aesthetic. I personally use a mix of natural and artificial lighting to create a clean, minimalist look that doesn't look too "studio-like." Gina, the studio owner, also creates a new set in the front room throughout the year, which is a fun way to end the shoot! For this shoot, we briefly played around the 70's themed backdrop and loved it! We used musical props, and they blended well with the rockstar outfits. I also encourage an outfit change if you're opting for a studio session.
