Lake Davis Engagement Session | Lake Tahoe Photographer

Their proposal…

"For Taylor, it was a normal trip to her family cabin to escape everyday stresses and relax. For Thomas, it was a sleepless, heart-pounding weekend and the moment couldn’t come soon enough. After warming up by the fire and having morning coffee, Thomas asked Taylor to go on a drive around Lake Davis. We stepped out of the truck at Eagle’s point, a frequent fishing spot for us even though we have never caught a fish there. She was meandering along the shoreline (as Taylor does!) and he kept nudging her to get to the point. Finally, at the edge of the point, this was the moment. As Little t hugged him, she could hear his heart beating through three layers of clothes! Right as Taylor was about to ask if he was ok, Thomas got down on one knee and asked Taylor to marry him. She immediately jumped into his arms and said yes! He followed with, “Do you want the ring?!” The timing was unexpected and caught Taylor completely off-guard. The moment was perfect. Photos, beer, and pure happiness followed along with a few phone calls. Add this to the list of why the Lost Sierras will always be special to us." -T&t

“We love everything outdoors from hiking and backpacking to hunting and fishing. We love experimenting in the kitchen with game meat and fish and cooking the good recipes for friends and family. Our most memorable trips were hiking the grand canyon's rim to river to rim in one day and summiting Mt. Whitney”

Engagement Session Feels

“Taylor was more nervous and excited where Thomas was full on excited. When Taylor gets nervous, she doesn't talk much and when Thomas gets excited he won't stop talking. During the drive to meet Elsa, Taylor said 5 words and Thomas didn't stop talking.”

Advice to couples planning their wedding during this pandemic…

“Be flexible, go with the flow, and book vendors early! With COVID we have to be flexible. We have the mindset where we're hoping for the best, but have to prepare for the worst.”

How they met…

“Taylor and Thomas met in the UC Davis dorms in 2011. One class we (barely) passed together was, you guessed it, CHEMISTRY! After three years of friendship, we finally went on a first date. Little t fell in love with his goober-ness and Big T fell in love with her fiery personality. The rest was fun travels and memorable trails. You know what they say, “Couples that crap in the woods together, stay together!” Five and a half years later, Thomas popped the question – and Taylor jumped in his arms… then said yes! We are looking forward to embarking on our next adventure! Our nine-year journey has led to this point and can’t wait to celebrate!”

Future Plans

“We want to try and go on a new adventure every year from visiting new National Parks to tackling difficult hiking trails. Maybe babies one day, but we'll start with a fur baby.”
