Martis Camp Wedding | Vivian and Michael
Vivan and Micahel's wedding was a dream to photograph. My favorite part was how much they prioritized family throughout the day. Vivian had a first look with her dad and brother. They surprised family and friends with very thoughtful gifts the morning of, and they continued the love and attention to detail until late at night. It was incredible to observe the love they have for their tribe. There’s no doubt they have put a lot of effort into their life, career, and relationships, and to see that intention pour into their wedding day was so special.
We had also scheduled an adventure engagement session at Emerald Bay months before their big day. By the time the wedding rolled around Vivian and Micahel felt like old friends and were naturals in front of the camera.
Enjoy a peek of their big day...
A classic wedding theme…
…We also loved our champagne tower. It is a tradition to pop & serve a very large bottle of champagne at weddings in Michael’s family. We wanted to incorporate a champagne tower, but unfortunately could not saber a 6L bottle ourselves as it is too big, so we sabered a smaller bottle to pour in the tower and during our first dance the guests were provided the champagne from the 2 6L bottles that we had. Late night we saw some friends and family sipping what was left in the 6L bottles!
What does the future hold for Vivian and Michael?
A family! Though down the line, it is the next big goal that we have together. We bought our house 5 months after getting engaged!
Fun facts:
We met on two dating apps: the first was around the holidays and Vivian ignored him, but after the second match, she knew she had to meet Michael.
Michael is the 4th Michael in Vivian’s family. Everyone on Vivian’s side but Vivian calls Michael 4. Vivian’s family is big on nicknames, and this one was given by Vivian’s brother before the family met Michael!
Both of our dad’s names are Albert.
Michael is 50% Italian & Vivian is 50% Spanish.
Michael lived with Vivian’s family for 6 months at the start of COVID
Advice to couples planning a wedding:
I recommend practicing your first dance and first kiss more than once! We didn’t think we had to practice, and we definitely should have!
A little about their Honeymoon… We went to Europe! Michael’s family is from Italy and Vivian’s is from Spain, so we are both well traveled in Europe. We wanted to specifically pick destinations we both had not been to to experience the cities for the first time together. After some COVID restrictions and many canceled flights, we ended up going to Lisbon, Lake Como, & Crete. It was amazing to see the likeness of Lisbon to the city we met in: San Francisco. Lake Como & Crete we’re outstanding with magical sunsets and amazing views.
The end.
