COVID Adventure Elopement

“Don't be afraid to lace up some hiking boots and stuff your dress in a backpack! You can make any wedding dream you have work if you take it easy, go with the flow, and get a little creative. Spend time deeply considering what you want and need in your wedding, and focus all of your energy on just those important pieces.” -H&T

H&T traveled from Seattle to have an intimate wedding in the California forest. I had declined a job for 10/10/20 before (first of all, how cool is that date), and I'm so happy that it ended up being saved for a couple like H&T. They were so laid back, and their relaxed approach to the big day made for an amazing experience. I've been helping a lot of couples plan their elopement this year, and H&T's vision was one of the most effortless ones to execute. They already had a spot in mind that matched their vision, and it was easy to access for everyone.

To keep everyone safe, they had only had a few guests join, and they all took a COVID test before coming. The event was outside, and we all wore masks, except for the group photos where guests did take their mask off but remained socially distanced. The officiant was part of their COVID pod, so that worked out well :) We were a little concerned about the weather, but it stayed overcast with no rain. Everything came together so perfectly!

Enjoy a peek of their adventure elopement!

“We had joked about having a "hike-in" wedding for a while but always thought it was a silly, unrealistic idea. We really enjoyed getting to actually drag our family up a (tiny) hike! And finishing getting ready together just off the trail (behind a tree!) was funny and sweet.”

“We started dating senior year of high school and have been together ever since! We do just about everything with our dog, Appa, from brewery days to every hike we go on. So we had to have her in the ceremony, even though she insisted on causing a scene.”

Future plans post COVID:

“When the world is in a better place, we are excited to go on a long, long trip to Europe to travel the UK and Scandinavia.”

They had elopement swag bags for guests to take home, which included a to-go dinner and cupcake!! So thoughtful.

“We're so thankful that we were able to share the day safely with some of our family. It wasn't what we had imagined, but it was special thanks to them rallying with us.”
