“We appreciate all of you, near and far, in supporting us in this journey together. After over a year of quarantining and social distancing, it was wonderful to spend quality time with so many of you. We wouldn't be here without you guys.”-Ki and Sarah

Let’s start from the beginning…

Ki and Sarah met through Teach For America (TFA), a national non-profit, during an inaugural conference for Asian American educators.

Fun fact: “We've been to nine national parks together.”

“We really loved peeking out of the window of our suite to watch our guests arrive at our ceremony site – seeing our guests react to the beautiful view of Lake Tahoe, mix and mingle, and rock their freshest post-pandemic outfits. It was amazing having a smaller wedding and having the opportunity to spend time with our family and friends!”

Any honeymoon plans?

“No plans for now. We do plan on traveling to Hong Kong, South Korea, and Thailand eventually to see the family that could not make it to our wedding due to COVID-19.”

“…our cultural ceremony was so special to us. We're proud that we showcased a blend of both our Korean and Chinese heritages, in a way that's meaningful to both of us and our families.”

So what big goal does this power couple have now that they’ve tied the knot…

“We would like to get two dogs and a fat cat. This is an ambitious, long-term goal.”

Advice to couples planning a wedding:

“Do the things that feel authentic to you and your loved ones. Don't worry too much about having the perfect picture wedding. It'll be more memorable if you find small ways to make it special for you and/or your family. On a side note, find yourself a great photographer. You'll be looking at those pictures to relive those moments!
