Lake Tahoe Intimate Post-Wedding Celebration | Kayla and Jake
“We had the BEST time! Our favorite thing was probably the mini hike we did during golden hour with Elsa. We love hiking and of course Tahoe, and had never been to this spot before. It was so fun to discover this new place. especially during sunset when the lighting was pure magic!” - Kayla and Jake
I loved that Kayla and Jake continued their post wedding bliss with an intimate celebration. After planning a full production wedding, they opted to be intentional with what this day would be like. It was lovely to see their relaxed garden-meets-Tahoe theme come together. And spending time with them was a breeze – we clicked on so many levels, from chatting about photography and our shared dog goals to swapping travel stories and even comparing notes on our husbands' similar career paths. It truly felt like reconnecting with old friends.
It’s giving garden party vibes.
“Our little post-wedding celebration went so perfectly and I think it was because my vision really came alive and I chose our vendors carefully. We couldn’t have our real wedding in the mountains (it had to be near Washington DC for logistical reasons) so this was the best way to get to experience that. We also didn’t want anything too fancy since we’re pretty low-key people - I think our choice of pizza and sitting on the ground at a picnic table reflected that! Also, having the event on a deck at a family friend’s home - right on the lake of Tahoe Vista with a beautiful overlook - fit the occasion perfectly. To match the laid-back Tahoe summer vibe, I wanted simple decor that felt whimsical and magical - and Reverie Picnics created just that. So best advice… trust in your vendors and your vision. You chose them for a reason, and as long as you’ve clearly articulated what you desire, everything should fall into place. The same goes for your photographer (the most important vendor in my eyes) - trust them as artists, and try to enjoy yourself! And don’t forget to indulge in cake & champagne ;)” - K&J
“We’ve been together almost 4 years! We both love the outdoors and being active, with our favorite activity being hiking. We also love running and stand up paddle boarding. Being active outdoors is a huge reason we live in Northern California actually :) especially being so close to Tahoe!”
“We love to travel and would love to do more of that before eventually having a family/children! We will probably start with furry children first :) our dream is to get a dog that can do active things with us like hike and run - a golden retriever or Aussie would be amazing!”
