Tannenbaum Wedding in Reno | Shannon & Vadim
This blog is extra special because Shannon and Vadim have become friends. Knowing Shannon isn’t into cheesy, I’ll keep this light! After they booked me, I found Shannon on IG and saw glimpses of Vadim in her stories. A few months later, I spotted him at the climbing gym and walked right up to say, “I think I’m your wedding photographer.” I quickly got a sense of their personalities, values, and hobbies—and realized I wanted to be friends with them. But I have one rule: I don’t photograph friends’ weddings. So, I captured their day as a stranger. After their wedding, we went out for drinks, and that was just the beginning. My husband and Vadim have gone on some outdoor climbing adventures, while Shannon and I climb regularly at the gym. I’ve also joined her book club! Here's to many more adventures with you two!
Now, take a look at a few of my favorite moments from their beautiful wedding day…
Some love stories are simply meant to be—like Shannon almost canceling their first date (thankfully, she didn’t) or the way timing seemed to work against them, with their first date happening just six months before Vadim left for Philadelphia to begin his fellowship. But despite the odds, they made it work. It all started with a Bumble match, and fast forward to their wedding day, they were surrounded by family, friends, and an overwhelming amount of love in Reno.
For Vadim’s favorite moment, the first look was unforgettable.
“Shannon looked absolutely stunning” - Vadim
Their advice to future couples? "Elope. Kidding!" But seriously—enjoy the process, trust that everything will come together, and soak in every moment. Their only regret? That their beloved cat, Ruby, couldn’t attend. (Although, they suspect she’s totally fine with it.)
The future is looking bright for these two! Their biggest goal? Raising little ski racers and continuing to build a life filled with adventure, love, and plenty of laughter.
The speeches were a highlight, too. Shannon’s dad, usually reserved with emotions, gave a heartfelt speech, while Vadim’s family welcomed her with open arms. And then came the moment—Shannon’s dad pulling out a suitcase full of her high school ski racing medals. Iconic!
A Note from the Newlyweds
“To our friends and family—thank you from the bottom of our hearts for traveling so far to celebrate with us. The day flew by, but it was truly the best day ever.”
Cheers to Shannon & Vadim!
