Move-in Family Photoshoot with The Bairds
This is the fifth year I have photographed the Baird family. Every year for the last five years, we've had some sort of adventure, from Washoe to the sand dunes in the middle of nowhere. Everyone gets to dress up, and typically we shoot in freezing cold temps ;) This year was different, I was able to document them in their new home. They literally had just moved in a couple of days before the session.
It's beautiful to think that this home will have so many new "firsts" as the girls grow up and that one of those "first memories" will be this photoshoot. Thank you, Baird family, for showing me pieces of your world over the last few years :)
Future goals:
“Continuing to be close as a family! The girls are young now, but I hope that we are instilling a sense of family in them that will last a lifetime! We want to be the house that all the kids come to! We want to be the safe, nonjudgmental, always arms wide open space for our girls AND their friends!”
Favorite things to do as a family:
“Couch cuddles! Movies! Summer time is our go time, so we love to camp and hike and boat days for sure! But couch cuddles is hands down our numero uno!”
What were you most anxious, nervous, excited prior to your home session, and what was the outcome?
“Oh geez! The fact that we moved in two days prior I was so anxious about it not showing who we actually are! I didn’t want our session to show just us and boxes! We are so much more than boxes! We have years of love and memories and I really wanted to capture that! And crazily, it was captured, even with the boxes and just moving in!”
“The girls are 3 years and 15 days apart! I was so scared they were gonna be born on the same day! Kyle and I got pregnant with each of them at Burning Man. And they have both been themselves! Eleanor has been to 3 Burns. Lola 1. Kyle 9, and myself 7! Burning Man has a special place in our hearts that is not easily described to most! And we can not wait to go back and make more memories! (Maybe you can come and capture that for us! 😉 )”
