Lake Tahoe Surprise Proposal
“Arusha's favorite time of year is around the Holidays, so I knew it would be perfect timing to propose in December. I had no idea what exactly I wanted to do but I knew I wanted to do it somewhere in California. We both are originally from the East Coast and Arusha moved out here for dental school and I moved out here for work. We both have loved exploring California together, and I had heard great things about Lake Tahoe. I decided on a whim after seeing beautiful pictures of Lake Tahoe that I wanted to propose there. It was the perfect location, we stayed at Edgewood which was beautiful and perfect for Arusha as she loved the Christmas Decorations and the real winter feels that the resort and Lake Tahoe brought. Something that we really were missing living in Southern California. After discussing with Elsa, I decided on a perfect location with beautiful snow capped mountains, the serene lake, and gorgeous greenery. I could not have been happier with the location, as Arusha and I walked down to the pier I was blown away with how beautiful every thing looked in person. I was nervous but also excited to finally propose to my now Fiancé, then girlfriend of 8 years. The location and everything was perfect, and I could not have asked for a better photographer to help me plan the biggest moment of my life.”
Pritam planned a surprise proposal for Arusha on their weekend trip to Tahoe. He shared his vision, ordered some champagne, and even had some flutes delivered to our condo and made sure everything was perfect for the big day! After the proposal, we had their engagement shoot at a dock in Lake Tahoe and finished the night with an epic sunset. Thanks P&A, I feel so honored to have been able to document this special moment for you two. You two seriously rock.
“I was more excited than anxious or nervous. I knew I was ready and I knew I had found the perfect location. I was nervous there would be people at the location as I knew I wanted the moment I proposed to be private with not many people around. It ended up being perfect and isolated. The weather was thankfully beautiful that day and not too cold as well. I could not have asked for a better day to propose, the weather was beautiful, the location was private, the sunset also ended up being beautiful that evening.”
“We met our freshman year in college at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. We met through mutual friends, as I told one of my friends that I thought Arusha was cute and told her to make an introduction. After we were introduced, the rest was history. We started hanging out and just as friends for the first couple of months but I officially asked Arusha to be my girlfriend a couple of months later. We instantly clicked and I knew she was the one for me. Here we are 8 years later ready to take the next big step in our relationship!”
“We both have a chocolate labradoodle named Charlie, we love taking Charlie on hikes outdoors and taking him to different dog friendly wineries, we love wine tasting together, Pritam loves to golf, we both love watching sports together (we're DC sports fans Nationals, Capitals, Washington football team love watching all sporting events especially in person)”
Wedding Plans: “We currently have not started wedding planning at all! Arusha is still in dental school and we know we want to have a little bit of a longer engagement, especially with the uncertainty of COVID right now. We still have some time as our current goal is to have a small wedding in summer of 2022 after Arusha graduates.”
“We can't wait to move on to the next phase of our life together. We have loved living in Southern California together, but we are open to moving back to the East Coast or another location after Arusha finishes dental school. In the future we hope to live in beautiful suburbs with a big yard for our labradoodle to play in. Arusha hopes to specialize in pediatric dentistry, and would love to open a pediatric dental office in the future. As for me, I love my job in Finance. it keeps me busy and on my toes. I hope to continue working in finance but also helping Arusha with her goals of opening a pediatric dental office. We hope to have a successful dental practice in the future! We also hope to start a family in the far future and possibly get another labradoodle. We love our chocolate labradoodle, Charlie, and would also love for him to have a sibling to play with.”
