About their engagement: “It did not go according to plan... Rian wanted to pop the big question during a romantic weekend getaway in Carmel. Rian scheduled a full day of wine tasting at some of Carmel’s finest tasting rooms; he made dinner reservations at a fancy Italian restaurant; he even called to ensure a table in a secluded part of the restaurant. After a few too many glasses of wine, Jen overslept from her early evening nap and they almost lost their reservation. After a heavy appetizer and an annoyingly loud newly engaged couple sitting at the table next to them (ugh), Jen decided she needed to leave the restaurant ASAP (cue Rian's internal panic attack) But all was not lost - after a quick stroll to the beach later that evening Rian, who forgot everything he had planned to say, got down on one knee....Jen after many tears said yes!”

I had a BLAST at Jennifer and Rian’s engagement session. We met up at a bar, took some photos by the lake, hiked to a cliff for sunset, they shared some champs, and we didn’t freeze/get lost. It was a success! After hanging out with them for a couple of hours I have no doubt that their big day will be nothing short of AMAZING. Enjoy a peak of their engagement photos…

“We were both super anxious about not feeling natural or comfortable around the camera. We instantly felt at ease after a fun conversation with Elsa at our favorite location in Lake Tahoe.” This made for some fun poses right at the beggining of our session!

A favorite moment was: “Taking advantage of our liquid courage and jumping right into the session with some cool kid poses.”

“We have multiple matching outfits, possibly including a Harry Potter shirt. You know what they say.. "Couples that match... stay attached"

They join wine clubs to get the discount at a tasting and are up to 4 in the last year.

Future plans involve: traveling, settling into the city and adopting a lab puppy.

So how did Rain and Jennifer meet?! “Although Rian and I both went to college together and had very similar friends, we didn't truly meet until 4th of July in 2015. We were in South Lake Tahoe for a big party with our friends. We walked home together from the firework show and both knew that those fireworks weren't the only sparks flying that night.”
