San Francisco Engagement Session | 16th Avenue Tiled Steps | Bianca & Matthew

How did Bianca and Matthew cross paths? They "met in a very divey and dim lit bar called Buckshot, who's legendary dance floor will live on forever as it subsequently closed due to a rat infestation....romantic, right?  This translated into a 4 year long search for the next best bar with a stellar dance floor blaring 90's hip-hop."- B&M

Fun Facts!

Bianca: bay area native. nursing school graduate. obsesses with all skin-care/health/fitness habits.

Matthew: proud welshman. he was only meant to be in SF for 18 months but once he met Bianca he made it a more permanent trip.

We started with photos at their apartment. They had wine and we listened to The Beatles. A pretty ideal way to start any engagement session.

Then we headed to the colorful tiled steps on 16th Ave.

About their proposal: They had an intimate proposal in their home, which they generously shared the video clip of with me. Well, I asked them to. During the showing I realized that not a lot of people have seen the video (like maybe 2 others) and I still feel weird/special about it. He used a gorilla-pod-thing, not sure what it's called, and set up his phone to capture the big moment.

After the proposal they drank champagne and shared the news with their favorite humans.

We originally had plans to have their engagement photos taken in Yosemite, CA but due to the Ferguson fire we had to shift our plans and it ended up being absolutely incredible. It was slightly overcast and foggy, hello natural diffusers! Basically my dream conditions for engagement sessions. Everything is just a tad bit more saturated and the rich tones are drool worthy. Also Bianca and Matthew are rad. They let me use their parking spot. I know that doesn't sound like a big deal, but I have a hate/love (all hate actually) relationship with parking in SF. Is there a parking app for the bay area? Please email me if there is. If not, no worries, uber is my friend.

Future Goals: Travel a lot and visit all of the national parks in the US! I'd like to add on that they'll be throwing a big party next year to celebrate their love. Pretty stoked to see it unfold!
