City Hall Wedding: Elopement in Reno | Flavia + Dominik

Flavia reached out recently (I believe it was month-ish before her big day) for her civil shotgun wedding.

Flavia and Dominik are far from traditional (as she mentioned in her original inquiry), so I was instantly stoked to document their elopement.

Enjoy a peak of their BEST DAY EVER.

Getting Ready

We started at The Renaissance hotel as Flavia got ready with her MOH and the moms. Flavia is brazilian and Dominik is German. It was so cool to hear the different languages between the family.

Always a big YES to more champs

The La Di Da beauty team does it again! So freaking talented.

Advice to future brides who are currently planning an elopement: “Enjoy everything and have fun! Don't let anyone tell you what you should and shouldn't have in your wedding and stay true to who you are as a couple!”

First Look

We had the first look at The Renaissance hotel. They were really accommodating and showed me the perfect spot for an intimate first look (without me even asking)! So sweet of them. This also happened to be Flavia’s favorite moment: “When Dom got to see me as his bride for the first time!”

Find yourself a MOH who RUNS to bring you champs after your first look.

It was so cool to shoot at the Renaissance for a bit. So much character! I highly recommend booking a room here. The staff is incredible.

City Hall Ceremony

This is one of my favorite photos. Dad holding a box of tissues in the background.

They only allow a handful of people in the tiny room, but we all ended up making our way in.

Fun facts about Flavia & Dominik:

  • ”We love heading outdoors whenever we can and spending time with our pup, Waffles.”

  • “Our second date was a weekend camping trip at the Black Rock Desert.”

  • “We met at a bar called "Chapel"

“We loved having our closets friends and family with us to celebrate our marriage. It meant a lot to us to see everyone and it made our day extra special.”
